Computer Tips/Useful Links

You may find the following links helpful.
I signed up with Tech Republic. to get an email every morning.
Sometimes there are useful tips. It only takes a minute to see
if there is something I want to learn. If it is complicated and for
IT administrators, I skip it, but often I find new techniques. TR Dojo
often gives very practical advice.
Susan Harkins often has valuable tips.

On The Threshold

Sister Claudette LaVerdiere, M.M.

On the Threshold of the Future: The Life and Spirituality of Mother Mary Joseph Rogers, Founder of the Maryknoll Sisters
Everybody is reading and quoting Sister Claudette's new book on the spirituality of Mother Mary Joseph.
Maryknoll Fathers are citing it in their homilies. Fr. Emile Dumas made great use of it in the Guided Retreat he offered recently.
We have a new treasure to ponder and reflect upon. It not only includes delightful new information on Mother Mary Joseph's life, but also inspiration for  everyday as we proclaim the Good News of Jesus to the ends of the earth!

Avaliable at online bookstores.

Another Maryknoll Sister Writer

Sister Mary Boyce, M.M.

CALL ME POP
is a lovely memoir written, designed, and illustrated by Sister Mary.
It already has two customer reviews on the web.
Sister tells the story of her father, who taught her and her brothers and sisters the values she treasures today.
Reviewers sound like they envy the experience that this valiant family man passed on to his children.
Call Me Pop is available at online stores

Odds 'N Ends

Odds 'N Ends

Changes in The Roman Missal  - Rogers Library has acquired a set of 3 DVD's.  Each disc holds three 25-minute lectures. Beginning on Oct. 12, 2011, they will be shown on Main 2, so that we can all be ready for the changes when Advent arrives.

Word on Fire.org - has produced an adult formation program called
Catholicism
Journey Around the World and Deep into the Faith
The creator and host is Fr. Robert Barron
The series was filmed in 50 locations and in the streets. It is truly an inspiring series of 10 DVD's now available in Rogers Library.
Our Sister Joanna Chan was one of the consultants.

Crusade Magazine
Over and over again, throughout the years, requests come in about Crusade Magazine. Produced by Sisters Juliana and Chaminade many years ago with beautiful illustrations and fascinating stories about biblical and catechetical themes for a child audience, it was treasured by many who are parents today.  In these days of graphic novels, parents continue to ask if we still publish it. Of course, we never were the publishers, but it was a Maryknoll publication.
If you have never seen it, the entire collection was recently donated to us. Outdated now as to content, it is still filled with lovely visuals.
The Collection will be on display during November.

Laptop users will be happy to know that Information Systems extended our wireless access points. The library access point remains available without a passport. And now other "points" have been installed on Rogers first and second floors as well as some areas in the Main Bldg.
